My dad has Alzheimer’s disease. Can he participate in an Adult Day Care Center?

Our adult staff members receive ongoing training to focus on the client’s ability to socialize and participate in activities.

Can I drop by at any time to tour the center?
We welcome informal visits at any time. The best time to observe scheduled activities and tour the center is between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and between 1:30 and 3 p.m.

My family member never was one to participate in a lot of group activities. How will I get him/her to attend? What do I do when my loved one says they are just fine at home alone and don’t need day care?
Even people who were never particularly interested in group activities almost always adjust to the daily routines and benefit from the stimulation and opportunities for socialization. However, the staff respects the participant’s right to observe an activity or to use our garden, quiet room and patio to retire for some quiet time.
